Had this laying around in my note drafts for about three weeks thinking I would’ve made a comic about it, but uh….. yeah, no.

Wanted to post it anyway, so here we go.

“Immortality… is not a gift”

“It is a curse placed upon you that fools you into thinking it’s a good thing.”

“And, in this case, the heart is more clever than the brain, and quickly gets the full picture.”

“I’ve been ‘living’ in the infinite sky of stars for as long as I can remember…”

“I couldn’t ever manage to meet my parents, and, due to this so-called 'gift’, I never will, as I have already outlived them.”

“I’ll never even get used to the sharp pain of watching everyone else lose their lives, but I’ll just have to accept it, hold back every single tear and quietly move on, as if I never met them.”

“It hurts, and I wish I could die of old age like anyone else,”

“But it’s in this instance..”

“That I try to find a bright side to what is essentially a horrible deed,”

“Taking in every single moment of this endless life, as the sun rises once again from the gloomy night sky.”

Fylass In Wonderland -Chapter Nine- Moonlight Attraction (TW: MENTAL DISORDERS MENTIONS)

Fylass and Dolly walked through, who would’ve guessed, the same path, but for some reason, the penguin started to feel uneasy, as if they were going deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole that is this world - there were no cracks around, and everything seemed calm, and yet, Fylass couldn’t help but feel that something bad was bound to happen sooner or later, and Dolly seemed to notice.

“Best friend? Something happens?” She asked.

“Y-Yeah, I am, but… don’t you think something is odd?” Fylass said. “This world in itself is weird, and scary, and such, but as I take more steps, it all seems more and more familiar, and I don’t know why… It’s like this world was made for me…"

”…Is that a good thing? Or is it a bad, scary one…?“ Dolly asked again.

”…I don’t know…"

Both kept walking, with everything being too quiet for any of them to be glad with it, until they heard something - circus music.

“…A circus? In the middle of nowhere?” Fylass said with confusion. “A circus! Maybe that could make you happy, best friend! Come on, let’s go!” Dolly said as she tried to sprint towards the sound, and Fylass, after sighing, chuckled and ran along with their best friend.

The path was slowly being surrounded with pumpkins that had a beautiful yellow glow in some of them, and blue in the others, as the path became a starry promenade with how many beautiful stars were above them, it was like painting over a decaying wall with some of the most pretty colors in a can of paint.

Fylass stood there, looking at it in awe, since it seemed like something too pretty for this world, but they had to keep following Dolly before they lost her, although she walked slowly, so it was sure that the penguin would catch her sooner or later. Besides, this place made Fylass safe, somehow.

“Come on, best friend! Here it is!” Dolly said in front of the entrance.

There was a wooden gate, with a lot of led lights on the sides of it, and it had a title that seemed to be written with chalk, this one being: “Circus of Infinity”, although the word “Infinity” seemed to be overlapping another word, but Fylass nor Dolly seemed to figure out what was that word. Anyways, there was a circus to attend to! Who cares about something so insignificant, when the fun was right next to an open gate?

“…Why not? We need some time to relax anyway…” Fylass knew about the cracking floor, but at this point, they felt too drained out to keep going, so they felt they had the right to at least have some fun, if even slightly, and so, both Fylass and Dolly took the first steps inside the circus.

The area was filled with inhabitants of Dreamland with odd outfits, all of them having fun, entering the tents, and playing the games of the circus, that seemed to have a never ending fun. The area was also filled to the brim with the glowing pumpkins, and flowers that seemed otherworldly, and not even Fylass seemed to know them, which was weird, since they were a person really invested in flower studies.

“Oh Void! This place is wonderful, best friend! Dolly must see it all!” Dolly said, looking at her new, colorful surroundings.

“Wait, Dolly! Let’s stick together, okay? This place looks extremely big, and I would fear us getting lost here. Let’s at least search for a guide around here, before something happens.”

“Did someone say a guide? Haha!” Said a voice behind them, which Fylass decided to check out, only to see no one behind. “I am so glad to see other people around!” Said the same voice from behind them once again, and this time, Fylass was fast enough to move and see the one that was talking, and they saw a woman dressed as a jester with black and white skin in each half of her, that contrasted perfectly with her hair; with purple colors being the majority of her dress and boots, along with the usual patches of spade and club symbols with yellow and blue colors around, that had the same colors as her heterochromic eyes.

“Hah! Hello there, kids! How are you doing in this lovely evening?” The jester said with a curious glee in her voice.

“Oh! Uh… Hello there, miss…! I… I suppose we’re doing well!”

“Dolly feels really nice! How about you, miss?"

"Well, I feel dandy running this circus, that should be enough for me!” She said, chuckling, but soon enough, she noticed Fylass’ pupils, and she realized who she was talking to, and gasped in surprise. “Wait! You are the Club?! Oh lord! I apologize deeply for not noticing! I didn’t even introduce myself! The name is Soliera! Could I know what your name is, please?” The jester, now introduced as Soliera, said.

“Oh! Uh… my name is Fylass.”

“And her name is Dolly! Nice to meet you, Miss Soliera!” Soliera seemed excited to see both kids, especially Fylass. “I feel so flattered to see you here at last! Feel free to have fun in my circus as much as you like! Also, if you get lost, don’t worry! Run towards a random direction, and you’ll go back to the entrance! Like magic!” The jester was thrilled to see them here, as you can see. “I feel so sorry that I can’t accompany you for now though, since I need to check on one of the tents, so, feel free to have fun! I’ll make sure you’ll feel happy around this place, I swear!” Said Soliera as she went towards a random direction of the area.

“…That was odd…”

“Dolly thinks she was nice! She let us have fun here!”

“I mean, yeah, but, I still can’t get used to the fact that I am only recognized in this world by having these eyes, and this gem…I don’t like it that way.” Fylass said, as they grabbed the shears, and placed them on their back in a pocket that, surprisingly, worked perfectly for them.

“…Don’t worry, best friend! I will make sure that won’t bother you, somehow! Dolly always finds a way!”

Fylass chuckled, and decided to forget what just happened, and just have fun in this new place, at least for a little while. It wouldn’t hurt, right?

Fylass and Dolly were enjoying every bit of the circus, playing the games, visiting the attractions of the tents, or interacting with Soliera and the rest of the people enjoying themselves in this place of bliss, although something seemed wrong; everything was TOO happy for it to be true, but Fylass nor Dolly seemed to care at all, until…

“Best friend! Let’s play this one! Please!” Dolly said as she was pointing towards one of the carnival games they haven’t played before. It was a regular water gun shooting game, in which you had to shoot rubber ducks with the water gun. The host of the game was a small individual with a top hat that was seemingly floating, and a cute face below it.

“Hehe! Hello there! This is Antu! Win this game, and you’ll get a silver coin; use it in this prize machine right next to me, and win an amazing prize that will be chosen automatically depending on the things you need most!” The creature said.

Dolly and Fylass took the water guns for each of them, and played the game, which you needed to have a certain score if you wanted to win. Sadly, Dolly lost, but the penguin managed to get the needed score to win. “Oh! I won!”

“Aw, Dolly wanted to win too, but she’s glad that her best friend won this one!"

"I mean, after winning me the last four games, it was only fair that I would be the one winning this one! Heehee!” Fylass was having so much fun.

“Outstanding! Here! Have this coin, and use it on the machine! Let’s see what is the thing you need most at the moment!” Antu said as she pulled out a silver coin from above, and landed right above Fylass’ hands. The kid was excited to see the prize, even though they have already got some prizes already, from their favorite food, to things as balloons; but prizes will always be welcome!

Fylass used the coin, and from the machine, a little detachable red ball was in place for the penguin to open it, and Fylass did as such, and when Fylass realized what it was, their face of joy slowly faded away, as the contents of it were revealed to be a jar that had the smell of a hospital labeled “Amitriptyline” that was filled with yellowish pills

“…W-What is this?” Fylass asked to Antu with concern, as the latter seemed just as confused. “Uh, I don’t know, sir! This must’ve been a mistake of some sorts, I am sure!” Said Antu as she took away the jar from the penguin. “I apologize deeply! Feel free to leave if you like, d-don’t worry!”

“I-It’s okay, I understand, no need to apologize…” Fylass said as they looked around to find another place to be distracted with, only to notice that all the tents had something written on them, with what seemed to be chalk as well: “Hysteria”, “Lunacy”, “Good Child”, those were some of the words Fylass could catch a glimpse of, and a sense of dread started to ooze out of the circus.

“D-Dolly, we need to go.”

“Uh… sure! Dolly understands, best friend!” She said with a confused kindness in her voice, as Fylass walked away with her, to find Soliera and ask where the exit may be. They walked for a while, but they found her, and she seemed confused about what was going on too.

“O-Oh! Hello there, kids! Is there something you need help with?”

“Well, yeah, there’s something we want to ask… Where’s the exit?” Fylass asked, and Soliera seemed confused. “Hm? Oh, you want to leave! That’s alright! There’s the entrance! I hope you had fun while it lasted!” Soliera said as she pointed towards the place where Fylass and Dolly came from to get here.

“N-No, that’s the entrance, yes, but we need to find the exit, or atleast a way that leads us to the Card Castle.” As Soliera heard those words from Fylass, she seemed concerned, and even a bit nervous.

“…I am sorry, sir, but I wouldn’t recommend that exit! The people that have used it, usually never come back! Not even the guide, and I don’t have any idea why. I tried to seal it or something, but it always stays, for some reason…” Fylass seemed a little bit scared, but they knew that they probably had no choice.

“…If that’s the only other exit, I guess me and Dolly will have to take it…”

“Yeah! If there’s no choice, Dolly and her best friend will have to use it!”

Soliera seemed a bit sad, but used one of her limbless hands to point towards a tent that wasn’t there before; it was blue, and purple, and had a little star on top. Fylass and Dolly knew what they had to do, and so, they left, saying goodbye to Soliera.

The tent was right there, and taking a peek at the inside of it, it had nothing, but a set of stairs that lead to the darkness, and when both kids were about to enter it, a voice was heard from behind. “Heehee! You seem to be getting closer, and closer!"

Fylass turned back, only to see Selene right behind them. "Nice to see you again!” She said. “U-Uh… weren’t you a giant the last time we saw you?” Fylass asked, and afterwards, the Cheshire Cat spat out an empty bottle with the words “DRINK ME” labeled on it. “Those taste nice. Does that answer your question?” She said, with a mischievous chuckle following afterwards.

“…I guess it does… Anyways, what are you doing here?” Fylass asked.

“Pfft, just trying to have some fun as this world starts to break! We might as well have some fun before it’s too late! Don’t you think, partners!”

“…Dolly doesn’t get it.”

“Oh! You thought that was directed to you? Heehee…” Fylass felt as if someone was behind them again, and when they turned back, they saw Casey and another individual that had black skin, red eyes with black pupils, wings of matching colors, and a set of gray thorns that accompanied perfectly their white fur, and grin with pointy teeth.

“Nice to see you again, too, Club!” Casey said

“And it’s nice to see the Club in person too, aren’t I flattered?” Artemeta said.

Fylass and Dolly were surrounded by the three Cheshire Cats, all of them with mischievous expressions.

“…What do you want?” Fylass asked.

“Oh? Us? We want nothing more than to watch you in this adventure! What else did you expect? Heehee.” Artemeta claimed. “And also, this is Artemeta, I should explain that too, since I would be considered rude if I didn’t, wouldn’t I?

”…“ Fylass was silent; they had no idea what to say, since this was all too confusing, so they and Dolly silently went towards the inside of the tent. ”…Ah, they got too scared. What a shame, hehe…"

“It is a shame.” Said a voice, that wasn’t any of the three cats, and they went towards the voice out of curiosity, only to see Singularity right in front of them.

“Why, if it is the White Rabbit! Haha!” Casey said.

“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be going with the other one to send a message to The Queen or something? And where’s the other?” Selene asked with sarcastic curiosity.

“…He is up ahead, and I thought it would be convenient to talk with the Club a little. Where is their location?”

“The Club? They just went inside the tent with their doll to get to the castle, they surely are getting closer to get there!” Artemeta said.

“Ah, I see.” Singularity said with their monotone voice. “I suppose I need to wait longer to say some words to their face again.”

“Why are you trying to reach them so badly? You want to ruin their progress, or something?”

“…I only seek to watch, for I know this is a battle I should not be fighting, and so, I am not doing so. At the end of the day, it’s more amusing to see what is going to happen sooner or later.” Singularity said. “As the more steps they take, the more aspects of reality start to blend in this world, and none of you seem to notice, which is disappointing.”

“…You are not funny, you know? I only heard you talk for 15 seconds, and I already want to go to sleep, I’ll get going.” Selene said as she disappeared in the distance, with the other cats following.

“…Hm. It is surely incredible to see how fragile this world is… As fragile as the one that created it; it is surely a wonder to see that it’s still standing at this point, even after all of that time they have spent at the "Circus of Infinity”, but at the end of the day, I know the purpose of all of this, for this is not only a circus of infinity, but a circus of infinite denial…"
